Did you know Muslims are forbidden to eat pig? Almost all of the population in Jordan are Muslims. They don’t eat pig because they are Muslims and they believe pork is classified as najas, meaning it is very unclean. Muslin holy text is called a Qur’an where there are many other diet laws.
Because its forbidden to eat pig there was no bacon in McDonald’s. Instead of pork hotdogs they had chicken hotdogs. Again like the other McDonald’s, you can only order on screens. We got a snack for the road, coming back from Amman. I got a Mango Smoothie with whipping cream on top, and a Mendoza Doughnut, Brooklyn got a Peach Smoothie and a Mendoza Doughnut. Our dad got a Strawberry Smoothie and a Mendoza Doughnut and our mom got a Mango Smoothie and a Dark Drizzle Doughnut. These doughnuts are only available in Jordan.
Jordan McDonald’s ingredients are 100% produced in Jordan and are also owned by a Jorden company. All meat in Jordan’s McDonald’s are Halal which means every animal is raised well and killed quick and with as little pain as possible. Lots of people boycott McDonald’s because franchise fees go to The United States who support Israel. People who go to McDonald’s are sometimes treated poorly.
