McDonald’s facts
Did you know that there are over 800 McDonald’s locations in the Philippines, which sounds like a huge amount but in Canada there are over 1,400 locations. The amount of McDonald’s locations in the Philippines sounds like a small amount compared to Canada, especially because the Philippines has a way bigger population compared to Canada. McDonald’s in the Philippines is 100% Filipino owned and they have incorporated Filipino food into their menu.
Floats
We all got floats which we have not seen at any other McDonald’s in the world. My mom and I got a golden McFloat which is a combined flavor of peach and pear with a swirl of soft serve on the top. Rylee got a Coke McFloat with hot fudge sauce on the soft serve, my dad got a coffee McFloat. We also got BFF fries which were meant to be shared so they were very large.

Breakfast
Since we did not get very much that day my dad took me and Rylee to McDonald’s for breakfast one day. My mom was at a chiropractor appointment (she was not disappointed that she could not come). Rylee and I got a Longganisa with egg and hash brown rice bowl. Which is garlic rice, longgansia (Philippine sausage), egg and a hash brown. There was also a gravy station where we covered our rice with gravy, it was delicious!

My dad tried to get that too but they only had enough ingredients for two so my dad got cheesy eggdesal which is a breakfast sandwich. Cheesy eggdesal is melty cheese wrapped in egg in between a bun, my dad said when he bit into it, it exploded with cheese.
Jollibee’s
This is a very popular “fast food” restaurant in the Philippines that we also went to. Jollibee’s is the largest fast food restaurant in the Philippines with over 1,180 locations. Jollibee’s originated in the Philippines and was opened in 1975, it started out as a small family run ice cream parlor and turned into the biggest fast food chain in the Philippines.
Dinner
We decided we would try Jollibee’s in the Philippines because it originated here. When we got there it was super crowded and even though it was supposed to be fast food we waited over 40 minutes before getting our food. I got a cheesy hot dog because I had not had a hot dog since before the trip. The top of the hot dog was coated in cheese, I really enjoyed it. Rylee got a Champ Jr. burger which has tomato, lettuce, mayo and sliced cheese. My dad got a double Champ burger which is the same as the Champ Jr. but with two patties. My mom got the Amazing Aloha Champ burger which is similar to the Champ burger but with the addition of bacon and pineapple.

Dessert
For dessert we got a peach mango pie that was really delicious.

Drinks
Rylee, my mom and I got pineapple juice that was very delicious, and my dad got Coke.

McDonalds vs Jollibee’s
I liked both, I liked that Jollibee’s had a hot dog and the pie was really good but I really enjoyed the float at McDonald’s. I did not like that we had to wait so long at Jollibee’s though so overall I think that I liked McDonald’s better.
