In Nanaimo instead of South Korea and Japan
We are supposed to be in South Korea right now but we had a uninspected death in our family, our Opa. So we had to take a 15 hour flight to Calgary so we could pack our luggage and head to Winnipeg. We then headed out for an 13 hour drive to Winnipeg where we stayed for a couple of weeks for the funeral and to help our Oma. After a few weeks we drove back home, repacked, then drove 10 hours to Vancouver. We picked up our Oma at the airport and took to a ferry to Nanaimo. We are going to stay here for two and a half weeks.

This Morning!
My dad came by our room yelling “dolphins!”. We ran out of our room and saw Pacific White Sided Dolphins right outside of our window, they were beautiful! The owner of the AirBNB says they never see dolphins here. We noticed that they were behaving weirdly as they were pacing back and forth in shallow waters and they were not leaving! We guessed they were trying to stay away from danger. There must have been at least 30 dolphins in the pod. I searched up what they were doing and sure enough they were behaving like that because they were trying to avoid orcas. We sadly did not see any orcas but the dolphins were there for over 20 minuets and we also saw a seal pass by!

Pacific white sided dolphins can swim up to 47 km/h and they also travel in pods of ten to thousands! There Length is 5.5 feet to 8 feet long which is taller than me!
