Tiger Safari Adventure

An Early Morning
We had to get up at 5:30am because tigers are usually more active during early morning and late evening. We dressed in the warmest cloths we brought because we new it would be a little bit chilly. By the time the safari started it was around 7:00 am and it was not only a little chilly, it was freezing (13 degrees)! When the open car started moving really fast it was colder because of the wind. It probably would not have been that cold if we had come straight from Calgary but because we had come from really hot places it felt really cold.

Amazing Animals
I was a little nervous to see a tiger but also exited, we saw lots of animals like:

  • Blue Bull (Nilgai) Antelope
  • Gray Langur monkeys
  • Sambar deer
  • Kingfisher
  • Chital (spotted deer)
  • Peacock
  • Wild Boar
  • Crocodile

It was really cool to see all of the animals and how close we got to them, but we still had not seen a tiger. Finally the safari was coming to an end and it came apparent that we were not going to see a tiger this time. We still had a chance because we had another safari later in the day. We went back to our hotel, rested and warmed up the best we could before our next safari started.

A Second Chance
I was exited that we got another chance to see a tiger but I was also worried that we would not see one. At the beginning we saw similar animals to the first safari with the addition of a jungle cat and a rufous treepie. To all of our disappointment the sun was setting and our driver informed us that we were not allowed to be in the park when it was dark so he started to drive closer to the exit.

I thought that there was no way that we would see a tiger at this point but then we saw a collection of cars stopped looking into the forest. When we got close we heard some people whispering about a tiger but when we looked we couldn’t find one. All of the sudden I saw a flash of orange but my parents and Rylee did not see it, I thought that that was it and we would not see the tiger again but we noticed a clearing that the tiger was walking through! We got an amazing view and I was so exited. We followed her for the next 15-20 minutes and went back to our hotel happily.

That’s so cool that you got to see a tiger. Seeing animals in there natural habitat is a o different than a zoo. I remember when Staci and I went on a Safari in South Africa we also froze.
