Out of all the places we’ve visited so far, what is the most amazing sight or activity you’ve experienced? The most amazing activity I’ve experienced is getting to interact with so many animals, like riding, holding, feeding, petting, and seeing so many different kind of animals.
If you could only have one dish/food from this entire trip again, what would it be and which country was it from? I’d pick Dubai Chocolate ice cream to have again, it was so delicious. The country it was from was Dubai, and we found it in Shake Shack.
What was the biggest challenge you overcame or the moment that made you most stressed? The thing that has made me most stressed are sharks because they live in the ocean and we are swimming in it, I was stressed because sharks are so dangerous.
What is the most surprising thing you’ve learned about a culture, a person, or a historical event on this trip? The most surprising thing we’ve learned about a historical event is that in 2004 there was a 9.1-magnitude earthquake, that caused a 30 meter (100 feet) high tsunami, that killed over 228,000 people and destroyed everything in its path. We have been to the beach where the tsunami hit, it’s the closest beach to where we’re staying. It’s the most surprising because of how many people died.
Describe a moment where you had to use a new skill (like speaking a foreign phrase, reading a map, or haggling) that you wouldn’t have learned in a regular classroom. We learned how to say thank you and please in every main language on our trip, so that we could communicate a little. We would not have learned that in a classroom.
What is one THING you miss at home? I miss hanging out with my friends, and Clover. Clover does not understand that we are coming back which makes me sad.
If you could give yourself one piece of advice from four months ago, what would it be? The piece of advice I’d give myself four months ago is to not to be so scared of sharks, they’re not that bad and they’re not that common to see in the wild.
Now that we’re halfway through the countries, how does the reality of traveling the world compare to the version you pictured in your head before we left? I pictured the trip less busy, but it turned out our schedule was very busy. I like the busy schedule because then we don’t have time to get bored.
Of the countries still on our list (the next 7), which one are you most excited to visit and why? I’m most exited to visit the Philippines because we get to swim with whale sharks, and whale sharks are the second biggest animal on earth!
What specific activity, landmark, or meal still to come are you counting down the days for? I’m counting down days till we get to go to the ice cream museum, because it looks fun and we get unlimited ice cream!
Great answers Love the food question you know how i love to try new things. I love the desert part of your trip but the pink city would be very cool to see as well. Make lots of notes so you don’t forget anything from this trip.
