Brooklyn’s McDonalds Review : India

Cows grazing

Culture
India is home to 94% of the worlds population of Hindu people, Hindu makes up 79.8% of the culture’s in India. In the Hindu culture cows are worshiped and treated well, so they do not eat cows. It is a illegal in most of India to slaughter cows or to own cow meat. If you break the law you can get a lifetime of imprisonment. So the first thing we noticed was that there were no beef burgers, only vegetarian and chicken burgers. This was a little disappointing to me because I prefer beef burgers.

Food
I decided to try something new so instead of a burger I got a Tandoori chicken wrap, Tandoori chicken is a traditional Indian meal where chicken is marinated in yogurt and spices. The Tandoori chicken wrap was yummy but extremely small and not very filling. I also got french fries, they were very salty and delicious and we also got a special spice called Peri Peri for the fries which was yummy but also really spicy. The ketchup was free but it did not taste like ketchup and it looked watered down, none of us liked it. Our dad got a Maharaja Mac which is like a big mac but has vegetable patties made of peas and potatoes. We also ordered a vegetable surprise burger to share which was not as good as it sounds. It was basically a vegetable patty in between a bun.

Drinks
This McDonalds had very limited soft drinks there were only Sprite, Pepsi, and Fanta. For a limited time they also had drinks with boba in it, I got sprite with bursting boba’s which was really yummy and refreshing. There was also options of teas and other hot beverages.

Desserts
For dessert they had many ice cream options, mainly just flavors like chocolate and vanilla but they also had unusual flavors. Some flavors that Canada does not have was mango soft serve, mango sundaes and a vanilla sundae with busting bobas. I was going to have the boba ice cream but I was not sure if there would be very many bobas in it so I finally decided on the mango soft serve. I was surprised when it was not mango flavored soft serve but vanilla flavored with an thick mango hard shell over it. I thought it was super yummy because I really like mango.

Service and payment
Like all the other McDonalds we have been to so far on this trip the workers brought the food to our table. It was good service besides the fact that it took a really long time to get our food. We noticed that this was the cheapest McDonalds we have been to so far if we transfer the money to Canadian dollars. We got This McDonald’s meal for under $16 while in Paris it cost over $100!

Transportation
We took a Taxi to McDonalds because even though it was a really short walk it is not very safe to walk because there are not very many sidewalks. Traffic is so crazy plus rickshaws and motorcycles are squishing in every spot with enough room so it would have been very dangerous. Unfortunately it was very hard to get a taxi on the way back because every time my dad got an Uber they canceled so we were stuck at McDonald’s, my mom’s worst nightmare😂. Finally we got a taxi and got back to our hotel after a very long wait. The drive took around twice the time it would take to walk back because of the crazy traffic.

Wow it’s amazing how different the McDonald’s menus have been in your travels. I love mango too. I had a delicious mango cake and smoothie. The McDonald’s in Cabo unfortunately was the same as home. I’ve had Tandoori chicken before a liked it too. The traffic sou is like a nightmare there.

Ooh, Auntie Tammy would love the tandoori, peri peri and boba! Your comment about your mom’s worst nightmare being stuck in McDonalds made us laugh. 🙂 That is a huge price difference between McDonalds!
