Rylee’s McDonald’s Review: Portugal

Today we got to do our assignment, going to McDonalds! Similar to Paris you can only order on screens, but in the cafe you can order both on screen and in person. Another thing similar to Paris is that the employees serve you your food. In Portugal they have recyclable containers for your food and drinks.

The McDonalds was a lot fancier than most because they had a big outdoor area to eat, with a play structure for kids in the corner, and inside they had air conditioning so it was nice and cool. Inside there was a big café in the corner that had pastries which included doughnuts, pastel de nata, pop dots, cookies, and more. The café also had coffee, teas, and other hot drinks. Next to the café was the kitchen and serving counter for if you’re ordering food to go, and in the last corner were the bathrooms, they were small but clean. Inside there were barstools and chairs, but outside they had cushioned benches.

I ordered the McCrispy Miami bacon burger, it was a chicken burger with, lettuce, bacon, cheddar cheese, and a Miami sauce. I also got french fries (which you had to pay €0.05 for one tiny packet of ketchup!), a Chicken ShareBox, which was filled with chicken nuggets, chicken wings, and chicken delight (which tasted like chicken fingers but with seasoning). For the drink and dissert we had Sumol (pineapple flavored), and a Biscoff doughnut. We thought the Biscoff doughnut had no filling because it had a hole in the middle but when we bit into it, it was filled! Soumol is a fruity bubbly drink that comes in different flavors including orange, pineapple, passion fruit, lemon, apple, tropical blend, and mango. We’ve only had orange, pineapple, passion fruit, and lemon. Everyone liked passion fruit best besides Brooklyn who liked lemon best.
